Fraser Valley Regional Biodiversity Stewardship Program

The Fraser Valley Regional Biodiversity Stewardship Program works within the FVRBS and seeks to increase partnerships and collaboration between Fraser Valley stewardship groups and all levels of government, and to support the works of Fraser Valley non-profit organizations in the conservation, enhancement and protection of biodiversity in the Valley

Funding from the Real Estate Foundation (REF) and Environment Canada has provided Fraser Valley Conservancy with the opportunity to start the process of a regional strategy in 2009 and additional funding from the Government of Canada Habitat Stewardship Program for Species at Risk in 2009/2010 has helped to develop a pilot strategy project for Sumas Mountain. The pilot project will consist of Terrestrial Ecosystem Mapping with Sensitive Ecosystem Inventory (SEI) mapping overlain which will provide baseline data of rare ecosystems on the mountain.
