Volunteer with the Fraser Valley Conservancy!
How much time you want to volunteer is up to you!
Current volunteer opportunities at FVC!
Here are some ways you can become involved:
- Public Education: Volunteers who are enthusiastic and are able to work well with media and public education outlets are needed to promote the mandate, projects and commitments of FVC
- Fundraising and Campaigning: Fundraising through different project related campaigns help supplement projects such as habitat restoration, creation and harm mitigation. Currently, the 2010 “Toonie for a Toad” campaign is geared towards implementing education and long-term solutions regarding the Western Toad, and other amphibians that undergo life cycles in at least two habitats. Education of the life cycles, migration patterns and threats will be provided. Volunteers are needed during night time adult amphibian monitoring and seasonal migrations.
- Land Protection, Creation and Modification: Volunteers who enjoy getting their hands “dirty” are needed to help with several projects including our Adopt-A-River Program, Native Species Plantings, Invasive Species Removal and several restoration projects. There is also a need for the construction and donation of bird and bat boxes for residences to increase biodiversity within the Fraser Valley.
- Our Board of Directors team are all volunteers. There are 2 vacant positions! If you have skills in non-profit organizations, finance, legal, or real estate, please consider donating your time to the FVC.
