August 19, 2008. We are pleased to announce the donation of our wet MacLure Wetland, a 15 acre parcel nestled in the Matsqui Prairie between Willband and Horn Creeks. Home to several rare ecosystems and species at risk including Green Heron and Red-legged Frogs. While much of the site contains reed canary grass, we can only see plenty of room for enhancement possibilities. The BC Transmission Corporation and VanCity have provided funds to continue the diversification of the site and we look forward to continued partnership with the University of the Fraser Valley in our enhancement and monitoring activities. Please read the latest edition of our newsletter, where we will continue to provide updates in each edition.
