Snail Habitat

South Fraser Way “Snail Property”

The two acre snail habitat was donated to FVC by South Fraser Way Development Ltd in the fall of 2007. The habitat supports the Federally listed Endangered Oregon Forest Snail, and the Provincially blue listed (threatened) Pacific Sideband snail.  A large population of the Provincially red listed (endangered) Pacific Waterleaf also lives on the property and adjoining park.

The property is made up of two ravines containing portions of Fishtrap creek.  The protected area abuts Simpson Park and a restrictive fisheries covenant which combined make a large protected area of over ten hectares.
