Jon Blais\, as we walk through Fishtrap Creek Park and learn about the native trees that call it home. Along the way\, you’ll learn how to identify different tree species\, hear the stories they tell\, and explore the vital roles they play in our ecosystem. Whether you’re a nature lover\, a curious beginner\, or just looking for a peaceful outing—this tour offers a new way to connect with the forest around you. \n\nThere are three short tours to choose from\, each with the same awesome content and limited to 10 people. DESCRIPTION:Outdoor – Walk\, Learn\, Remove\, Improve \nAre you someone who wants to make a difference for nature and the people of the Fraser Valley? Do you want to see invasive plant species being managed? If so\, we want you on our team! We’re looking for energetic volunteers to help us clear some invasive plants at Fishtrap Creek Park in Abbotsford. All tools and training will be provided.\nBefore we take action\, Jon\, our Habitat Enhancement Coordinator\, will take us on a short walk to share information about the species that call Fishtrap Creek Park home. \n\nVolunteer Assets: \nBe able to bend\, kneel and pull. \nCapable of working on uneven and sloped terrain. \nComfortable using gardening tools such as shovels\, trowels\, and hand pruners. \nBe able to differentiate between invasive plant species and native plant species. \nSpecies being removed are English ivy\, Himalayan blackberry\, and lamium. \nClick here to read the full volunteer job description. \nImportant Reminders:  \n Registration required. \n This activity is adult-oriented; children are welcome with adult supervision. \nIf you are signing up as a group of 5+\, please contact patricia@fraservalleyconservancy.ca to confirm with us first.
