DESCRIPTION:Outdoor – Cut\, Pull\, Dig\, Learn \nAre you interested in helping nature on our conservation properties? We need volunteers to help us control invasive plants and monitor the condition of our beautiful Three Creeks property on McKee Peak\, in Abbotsford.  \nDid you know this property has been identified as an important wildlife corridor and habitat hub by the city? You can help by assisting Spencer with controlling the blackberry\, lamium\, and other invasive plants that we are trying to eradicate to protect the integrity of the habitat. \nYou will also get a chance to experience this special place and learn about some of the cool critters who call it home. \n\nVolunteer requirements: \n\nBe comfortable working in a forest without trails \nBe able to crawl over logs\, duck through bushes\, kneel and pull \nCapable of working on uneven and sloped terrain \nComfortable using gardening tools such as shovels\, pickaxes\, trowels\, and hand pruners \nBe able to differentiate between invasive plant species and native plant species (training will be provided) \nClick here to read the full volunteer job description. \nInterested? DESCRIPTION:Outdoor – Sort\, Wash\, Check\, Count \nFrog traps and population data go hand in hand. We need help to make sure our gear is ready to help endangered frogs. We need help counting\, cleaning and storing traps. And\, ask all your froggy questions! \n\nVolunteer requirements: \n\n• 16 years and up. \n• Capable of standing for long periods of time. \n• Not afraid to get a little wet and grimy! \n• Able to bend and lift traps and bins up to 15 lbs. \n• Works well in a team and follows instructions. \nClick here to read the full volunteer job description. \nRegistration required.

SUMMARY:Help Us Combat Invasive Plants on Our Properties!
DESCRIPTION:Outdoor – Cut\, Pull\, Dig\, Learn \nAre you interested in helping nature and wildlife on our forested properties? We have opportunities to do just that coming throughout the summer and fall. We will need volunteers on an ongoing basis to help us enhance habitat on our conservation properties in Abbotsford and Chilliwack. \nThese invasive control events will happen during the week throughout September and October. We are collecting names for people who are interested and will reach out to you the week before the event to see if you are available. \n\nVolunteer requirements: \n\nBe comfortable working in a forest without trails \nBe able to crawl over logs\, duck through bushes\, kneel and pull \nCapable of working on uneven and sloped terrain \nComfortable using gardening tools such as shovels\, pickaxes\, trowels\, and hand pruners \nBe able to differentiate between invasive plant species and native plant species (training will be provided) \nSpecies being removed are Himalayan blackberry\, Yellow Archangel\, English Ivy and others \nClick here to read the full volunteer job description. \nFill out the form here to be added to the shortlist.
