SUMMARY:Lane Creek: Clean-up & Invasive Plant Removal
DESCRIPTION:Outdoor – Clip\, Remove\, Pile\, Improve \nAre you someone who wants to make a difference for nature and the people of the Fraser Valley? Do you want to see invasive plant species being managed? If so\, we want you on our team! We’re looking for energetic volunteers to help us with the restoration of Lane Creek in Mission. All tools and training will be provided. \n\nVolunteer Assets: \nBe able to bend\, kneel and pull. \nCapable of working on uneven and sloped terrain. \nComfortable using gardening tools such as shovels\, trowels\, and hand pruners. \nBe able to differentiate between invasive plant species and native plant species. \nBalsam and Himalayan blackberry will be the main focus of removal at this site. \nClick here to read the full Volunteer Job Description \nImportant Reminders:  \n Registration required. \n This activity is adult-oriented; children are welcome with adult supervision. \nIf you are signing up as a group of 5+\, please contact patricia@fraservalleyconservancy.ca to confirm with us first.

DESCRIPTION:Outdoor – Carry\, Walk\, Hammer\, Staple \nDo you live in the Fraser Valley? Are you interested in helping nature and wildlife in your neighbourhood? We have an event coming up that might interest you! This Ryder Lake Nature Team event is open to anyone living in the Fraser Valley. We will be building a temporary fence along Elk View Road to help amphibians travel from the breeding wetlands to the forest! \n\nVolunteer requirements: \n\n• Capable of lifting up to 15 lbs and climb over fencing \n• Comfortable using a shovel\, hammer and staple gun \n• Able to stand and walk on uneven ground/in a ditch along a road\, and in a hay field \n• Works well in a team and follows instructions \nClick here to read the full volunteer job description. \n  \nPlease sign-up for this event here. \nWe need everyone to register so we can update you if there is a change in plans. \n
