Outdoor – Dig, Search, Identify, Count
Are you interested in learning more about native land snails and their habitat? We are looking for a small team to help us search through the forest floor for the endangered Oregon Forestsnail on our Abbotsford property.
This event will happen during the week in mid may depending on the weather.
Volunteer requirements:
Be comfortable working in a forest without trails
Be able to crawl over logs, duck through bushes, and work on uneven terrain
Willing to crawl and search through leaf litter and under plants in the forest
Comfortable picking up and handling snails and slugs (gloves will be provided)
Able willing to learn about snail ID and habitat
