This riparian area was
overgrown with invasive plants that crowded the area. This space holds potential to become habitat for native species.
In May of 2025,
Habitat Healers braved the rain to tackle invasive plants along a portion of the tail. Their efforts were thanked by many trail users throughout the morning.

Together we learned
about the beautiful trees that make Fishtrap Creek so majestic. Jon took three small tours around the park to listen to the voices of the forest.
Back for round two
at Fishtrap Creek. Volunteers hit this area hard and removed three times the amount of invasive plants as last time!
Check out their hard work!
Habitat Healers went
back for a third round of invasive plant removal to make more space for the 1,000 native plants.
On November 13, 2025
16 volunteers joined us in unloading 1,000 native plants from the delivery truck. Using wheel barrows and wagons, they moved and placed the plants along the trail to be ready to plant.
We planted 1,000 native plants!
What an amazing day together! 37 volunteers came out and got their gloves muddy to make sure all these plants were planted in the ground. Thank you!!
