At the Fraser Valley Conservancy, we carry out our conservation work on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Stó:lō peoples and other Indigenous Nations in the S’ólh Téméxw (Halq’eméylem for “Our Land”).

We are proud to announce the development of our new Indigenous Engagement Policy. We invite you to read and learn about it now, in its evolving draft form.

This policy applies whenever Fraser Valley Conservancy undertakes ecological enhancement work, land stewardship, community engagement, or conservation planning that intersects with Indigenous rights, title, knowledge, or territorial interests. It will ensure that all such work is undertaken respectfully, collaboratively, and in accordance with Indigenous consent and protocols.

Our next step will be to share this policy with Indigenous Nations in the S’ólh Téméxw and incorporate any feedback they may have.
