FVC attended the Land Trust Alliance of British Columbia’s (LTABC) seminar series this past weekend, April 1st to 3rd 2011 with keynote speaker Story Clark. Story is a consultant and author specializing in conservation finance. Story is currently writing the second volume of “A Field Guide to Conservation Finance,” and developing a conservation investments fund among other things.
There were 15+ educational workshops to attend, at the seminar, including topics such as fundraising, social media, species at risk and marketing to name a few. On Friday, April 1st, LTABC held the annual Land Trust Awards night, which Ashley Peters and Suzie MacMillan from FVC won the award for Outstanding Programs: Non-Land for all the social media and community work they have been involved with, which lead to FVC receiving a grant for their Youth Stewards Program. The seminar series was very educational and informative, and FVC would like to thank everyone involved in organizing and speaking at the event!
