SUMMARY:Sort Plants With Us!
DESCRIPTION:On Thursday September 28th\, we need your help organizing all of our plants into their orders! This involves identifying\, sorting\, and moving plants around. \nThis is a great opportunity to learn and improve your native plant identification skills! \n  \nWhy It’s Helpful \n\nOur Native Plant Sale pick-up day is on Saturday the 30th. We need to prepare and organize all the orders. Your volunteering will ensure that our plant sale goes smoothly!\n\nResponsibilities \n\nBe prepared to spend the day moving and labeling plants. There will be lots of bending and lifting involved.\nWork with a fun team to sort hundreds of plants into order groupings.\nMust be able to follow instructions and have good attention to details to ensure all the orders have the correct plants.\n\nTraining/Equipment \n\nAll training\, including plant identification\, will be provided on the day.\n\nSafety \n\nDress appropriately for the weather as we will be outside.\nWear sturdy footwear and bring your gardening gloves. We will have some available if you need them.\nBring a refillable water bottle (water will be provided).\n\nSetting and Location \n\nBradner\, Abbotsford. Exact location will be provided upon registration.\nWe will be outdoors under a covered area.\nThere is a port-a-potty available on site.\n\nCommitment \n\nThursday\, September 28th\, 2023.\n10:00 AM – 3:00 PM (or sooner if we finish early)\nRain or shine!\n\nAre you able to come out and help? SUMMARY:Christmas Trees for Frogs Tree Drop Off 2023
DESCRIPTION:Help us create frog breeding habitat!\nCome drop off your natural Christmas tree for us to submerge in an pond where amphibians breed. Frogs will use the branches on these trees to attach their eggs. They will also use them to hide from predators. The Christmas trees installed in last year’s pond were popular with the frogs. We found lots of egg masses on them in the spring! \n\nThis  year’s Christmas Trees for Frogs pond is in West Abbotsford. Donations will be accepted at time of drop off to help support our work.\nSign up using the button below and we will let you know where and when to drop off your tree.\nMake sure your tree is untreated and cleaned of all ornaments.\n\nThe frogs will thank you! \n  \nIf you register as a volunteer we will let you know when we are going to install the Christmas Trees and you can come help us out!

DESCRIPTION:The Work: \n\nWe’re looking for energetic volunteers to help us with the restoration of Horn Creek Park.\nThis will involve placing and planting trees and shrubs.\n\nWhy it’s Helpful: \n\nHorn Creek Park in Abbotsford\, BC is a public park that locals can enjoy and is home to many birds\, snails\, and other wildlife. You will be helping restore their habitat so they can continue to live in the park.\n\nResponsibilities: \n\nPlanting trees and shrubs\n\nTraining/Equipment: \n\nIf you’re able to\, bring your own gloves\, otherwise\, they will be provided.\nShovels for planting will be provided.\nPlanting training will be provided on site at the beginning of the day.\n\nSafety: \n\nWear appropriate clothing and footwear.\n\nSetting: \n\nOutdoors at Horn Creek Park.\n\nLocation: \n\nHorn Creek Park\, Abbotsford\, BC.\nWe will be meeting at the north end of the park.
