DESCRIPTION:Join us\, in Mission\, for a two-hour educational event where we equip you with the knowledge you need to start your journey as a Habitat Healer volunteer: \n–         What are the habitats we find in the Fraser Valley? \n–         How do we know if habitats are healthy? \n–         How can we “heal” unhealthy habitats? \n–         What is the Habitat Healers volunteer program doing this year? \n–         How do we get involved in caring for nature in the community? \nHabitat Healers is open to everyone in the Fraser Valley. Current Habitat Healers – come out to hear new updates to the program and learn how you can get involved this year. Abbotsford and Mission events with the same name will have the same information. \nRefreshments provided (water\, tea\, coffee\, and snacks). \n  \nRegistration required. \nRegistration opens on April 24.

DESCRIPTION:Space is limited so register now!\nThis workshop will walk you through the basics of how to effectively steward the natural world that surrounds you. We will discuss what exactly is “stewardship”\, what elements make a healthy habitat for local wildlife\, and practical strategies on how you can engage in stewardship right outside your front door! \n  \nThis Nature Stewardship School is taught by Aleesha Switzer\, project biologist at the Fraser Valley Conservancy\, and Tamsin Baker\, stewardship coordinator at the Fraser Valley Conservancy. \n  \nThis is also the second official session of our Mission Habitat Healers Team\, a local community stewardship team dedicated to learning about and caring for green spaces in Mission. \n  \nSchedule of Events: \n6:00 – 6:30: Doors open and pizza is served! \n6:30 – 8:30: Nature Stewardship School Workshop \n  \nWhat to bring: All the nature-based questions you can think of and your appetite\, as we’re serving pizza before the presentation starts! \n  \nIf you are unable to attend this event but are still interested in getting involved with our Habitat Healers Ambassador Team\, or if you have any further questions about the event\, please don’t hesitate to contact the Step to It Program Coordinator Andrea Sadowski
